Day 1 – A New Arrival
The first day we allowed her to explore her new environment. She’s loves being outside, even if it is a bit on the cool side. We’re happy that each time she went outside she do her job. Every time I was out with her I had her follow me around the various paths thru the gardens. Trying to get to used to the area and to get accustomed to following on command.
At sometime during the day we decided to call her Mitzie. Our training included getting accustomed to her new name.
Cole came over at one point where she proceeded to jump and lick him incessantly. Cole became overwhelmed by her attention and ended up in Stacey’s lap.
She’s playing with the cat more and the cat is playing back. Ken has a video of the 2 of them chasing each other back and forth. I’ll see if I can post it.
She’s eating more provided we sit with her while she eats. We’ve also noticed that she’s picky about what food pieces to eat. Must be a Papillion thing. Murray was picky too. She is eating and drinking and will do her job outside when she’s taken out.
We weighed her too. She’s 2 lbs 6 oz.
She slept again with us waking up at 3:30 this time. I took her to her kennel where she did her job. She then slept until Ken got up around 6.
Overall we’re very happy with her.
A New Arrival
Today we picked up our new puppy. She’s a Papillion. 8 weeks old. We bought her from a family that lives in Rising Fawn GA. A small community roughly 15-20 miles from Chattanooga, TN.
The ride home with her gave us a chance to get to know one another. She played non-stop until just outside of Dalton. During the drive I got a call from my sister, the call went thru the bluetooth in the car so I had my phone in my lap. Sometime during our conversation, the pup first put the mike on mute then proceeded to hang up on my sister. I guess she didn’t like sharing her time with us.
She slept until we go to Adairsville. Then slept off and on until we got to around Cartersville. After that she was awake for the rest of the trip. At this point she became fidgety. I assume this was due to our nervousness from driving in GA traffic, which at 7:30 PM on a friday night is enough to make anyone nervous.
Once home, Ken and I decided that he would go inside first and let our other 2 dogs outside before bringing her in, where I would put her immediately into her kennel’s litter box to do her job. Which she did! The I let her out just as our cat walked by her kennel. She immediately attacked the cat a couple of times. The cat tolerated it.
The dogs were let back in where they all sniffed each other. Of course the puppy wanted to play. All Kirby and Neville wanted to do was sniff.
Next Stacey came over to meet her. She ran right up to Stacey as she came into the door. We took this as a sign that she will have an outgoing and friendly demeanor.
At bedtime we attempted to put her in the kennel, but she became distressed, so I brought her in bed with us where she snuggled down under Ken’s chin and fell fast asleep until 2 AM. I picked her up and put her in the litter box where she did her job. Yeah! Went back to bed where she slept until 6.
Busy Day in the Inspirational Household
Busy day. I spent much of the day in the kitchen. I had enough banana’s to make a loaf banana bread and we needed sandwich bread, so I made 2 loaves of Honey Bulgar Wheat bread. Both recipes can be found on the Inspirational Kitchen site.
I changed things up a bit on the banana bread. Main bread batter was the same, I changed the banana on the top by grinding Pumpkin Seed Flax cereal with brown sugar and dredged the banana slices in this. The cereal has a bit of cinnamon which really tasted good on the bread.
I think next time I might add 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon.
Next I made Honey Bulgar Wheat Bread. This is a light and flavorful bread that has wonderful texture and flavor. It is a good and healthy sandwich bread.

I hope you drop by the kitchen to check out the details of these 2 great recipes.

Taking down the Christmas Tree
Who knew that taking down the Christmas Tree would lead to another project.
We generally wrap our tree in shrink-wrap, but we are out of it now. My hubby got a bright idea to cut up old tarp to make individual sleeves for each section of the tree. He cut the tarp and I serged the sides together.
It worked out great.
